Geelong Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has been in Geelong since January 1998. It has been associated with the Geelong Private Hospital since January 1999. In July 2010 we moved into the new Geelong Private Medical Centre with upgraded consulting rooms and facilities and continuing our strong relationship with the Geelong Private Hospital. Services offered by Geelong Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery include: 1/ Management of impacted teeth and difficult dental extractions 2/ Surgical placement of Dental and Maxillofacial implants to facilitate the reconstruction of the dentition and facial features. 3/ Surgical reconstruction of the jaws and facial bones to enable the placement of dental implants and/or wearing of dentures and prostheses 4/ Surgical Management of the Temporomandibular Joint(TMJ) 5/ Corrective Jaw Surgery (Orthognathic Surgery) 6/ Surgical management of facial injuries including broken jaws, noses, cheekbones and eye sockets. 7/ Surgical management of pathology of the jaws (cyst and tumours) and lip cancer. At Geelong Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery we are able to perform your surgery utilising a variety of different anaesthetic techniques. Our private operating room is designed for local anaesthetic procedures which can be supplemented with intravenous sedation (twilight anaesthesia). For more advanced procedures General Anaesthesia is offered at the Geelong Private Hospital or Geelong Hospital. We work with a number of medical and dental specialists and can provide appropriate referrals when required. This includes referrals to General Dentists, Prosthodontists, Oral Medicine Specialists, Ear, Nose Throat and Plastic Surgeons.
